Laia Aguilar’s new Spring/Summer 2020 collection has been inspired by the 80’s – those souvenirs and the iconic postcards from childhood summer vacations, a throwback to the surrealistic and sometimes bizarre memories as a tourist.
Additionally, she has taken as inspiration, Sonia Delaunay chromatic artwork, the infinite color combination of butterflies, David Hockney and Steve McQueen self-sense of fashion, or Louise Bourgeois embroidery works
Besides Laia’s staple choices of fabric – cotton jersey, fleece, towelling, percale and denim, due to its versatility, she has incorporated voile with a personalized foil, an exclusive jacquard and a fresh chambray, not to mention the combination of cotton and silk.
This whole universe of fabrics that makes SS20 a very summery collection
